Croft looks forward to playing his old team

The Tractor Boys were in the Premiership and Croft dropped two divisions to join City in Division 2.

Today 20 months on from Crofts arrival at Ninian Park the teams are in the same Division with Cardiff above Ipswich on goal difference.

Croft had a loan spell at Wigan and played against City in Feb 2002 when the Latics beat City 4 - 0, a result that saw the sacking of Alan Cork.

Croft is looking forward to playing his old club and is hoping to be on the winning side

"It goes without saying that I want to play well against Ipswich and it's one game I want to win," Croft told the Western Mail.

"It's been well-documented that I wasn't given as many games there as I would have liked and it would be nice to put that to bed.

"Ipswich have got a different manager now so it's not a personal thing.

"And I'm not going to approach the game differently to any other.

"But a win against them would be extra special. I know a lot of the players there and I'd love to get a result."
