Crossley tells City to keep Margetson

Lennie has two outstanding matters to clear up. The contracts of Martyn Margetson and Gary Croft.

Croft is hoping to get a deal for more than the 1 year offered. Margetson is said to still be waiting for a formal offer. With contracts expiring last night Margetson is now a free agent. One of Lennie's first jobs must be to sort out the futures of these players.

Wales and Fulham goalkeeper Mark Crossley is a great admirer of Margetson. He told the Western Mail

"If I was in Cardiff's position, I would definitely want to keep Martyn. He wouldn't disgrace himself in the Premier League. I don't know what's going on between Martyn and Cardiff. That's between the player and the club.

"But he's now out of contract, which means the club is in danger of losing him. He's in a good position because I would say, barring injury, that he's got eight or nine years left in him.

"He's good enough to be in the Premiership and he did really well in his first match for Wales. He would be a real asset at any club."
