The midfielder picked up a slight groin injury during Tuesday night's draw with Coventry and may not be risked.

John Oster is still missing with a neck injury so youngster James Comley could make an appearance in the centre.

Skipper Shaun Derry is set to keep his place in midfield despite an ongoing shoulder problem which will eventually require surgery.

Left-back Clint Hill could return after a dead leg and centre-half Paddy McCarthy is in the frame for a place in the squad after coming through a reserve game on Wednesday.

McCarthy has been sidelined since undergoing a shoulder operation in January and could make the bench at Turf Moor.

Captain Joe Ledley is expected to return for Cardiff's trip.

The Bluebirds recorded their biggest win of the season against Derby on Wednesday - a 4-1 victory at Ninian Park - without Ledley.

But the Wales midfielder, who was struggling with hamstring trouble, should be back at Selhurst Park.

Boss Dave Jones has a selection headache in goal with Tom Heaton fighting to take the number one jersey from Stuart Taylor, who could be making the penultimate appearance of his current loan spell.

Jones reshuffled his midfield for the midweek encounter against the Rams and he may be tempted to do so again with Easter Monday's showdown against Burnley in mind.

Goalkeeper Peter Enckelman is battling to be fit for the start of next season after his knee surgery.
