'Darren Purse had a nightmare out there'

"We don't want a good season to just fizzle out and it is up to the players to try and hold on to our position.

"It could have been a respectable defeat if you take away all the defensive mistakes.

"You cannot make mistakes like that at any level of football. Darren Purse had a nightmare out there today but that's his first poor game all season.

"All the goals came from errors and it is all the more disappointing after pulling it back to 3-2."

"At 3-0 we had the game won but to Cardiff's credit they fought back and we needed to raise a gear.

"Fortunately my players are a good bunch of lads and they did just that but although it looked a comfortable win it was far from it.

"It is a strange situation when you reach your season's target with five or six games still left as you wonder how the players will react."
