Dave Jones and the 'Holy Grail'

Dave Jones must manage his side past two sides struggling at the bottom of the table. Firstly today City play Doncaster who are nine points above the drop zone. They should be fine but with seven matches to play they could probably do with a win or two to make absolutely sure. For that reason City are not going to have it easy today.

“We are playing teams who are fighting for their lives,” said Jones. “We are fighting for our lives, but Doncaster are in a different situation to us. I know where I would rather be.

“I am lucky that over my career as a manager there have not been many times when I have been fighting near the bottom end.

“When I have, I found how difficult it can be, trying to think of something just to get that extra few points.

“At the top end confidence is good and things, in the main, take care of themselves.

“Down there it’s different. Fear, panic can set in. It’s a hard, hard place to be

“Our task is to move up one place and if we achieve that we will get to the Holy Grail.
