Cardiff City have intyroduced Dave Jones as the new manager. He takes over from Lennie Lawrence who will remain at Ninian park in a consultancy role for 6 months.

48 year old Jones was only linked to City last week when details broke of a secret meeting between himself and Sam and Pater Ridsdale. Now less than 7 days later he's in the hot seat.

Good luck to Dave Jones and welcome to Cardiff City.

"I'll try to do my best to do what this club deserves, which is to try to get them where everyone wants to go," said Jones today

"So with the help of Sam and Peter, that's what we're going to try to do.

"It'll be hard, we know that. But with everything put into the pot - luck, good players, coaches, manager - we'll come up with the right formula.

"I'm also privileged to be in a position where I'm now back in the game, and that's thanks to Sam."

Jones' remit is to take Cardiff into the Premiership. Terry Burton will remain as his assistant.
