Dave Jones meets the press

Dave Jones began his 3 year contract today admitting he's been sold the dream by Sam Hammam. Jones, 48, met the press this afternoon and talked of the need to rebuild the club. Jones also confirmed he will not be bringing in his own staff and will work with Terry Burton and the existing coaches. That will give the manager and the staff time to decide if they can work with each other. Jones met the players this morning before they set of for their holidays.

"This club needs rebuilding and that's something I had to do at my three previous clubs," Dave Jones told the media today.

"I had to rebuild at Stockport County, Wolves were going nowhere when I went there and I had to rebuild and it was the same at Southampton.

"Cardiff is a massive club which has been described as a sleeping giant.

"But you only become a sleeping giant with good results on the field which will attract the level of support deserving of that.

"You don't get a job in football when things are going well for a team, so I'll be looking to bring all the good things back to Cardiff.

"The potential here is for this club to get bigger and yes, I was persuaded by Sam's dream for the club."

Both Sam and the manager talked of the need to turn over the playing staff. They will do whatever is necessary and will buy or sell as needed.
