Stoke City, Millwall and Crystal Palace are the only three teams in the division with a 100% record.

Stoke, thanks to a 90th minute winner beat Wimbledon at the Britannia on Saturday while Millwall added more pressure to Mick McCarthy by beating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. Crystal Palace made sure Watford's season started with a defeat by beating the Hornets 1 - 0 at Selhurst Park.

Reading picked up a noteable 3 - 0 win over Notts Forest with Scott Mrray and Shaun Goater among the scorers. Rotherham, last weeks opening day opponents for City were beaten 2 - 0 away at Norwich.

Crewe picked up their first points with a 1 - 0 home win over Ipswich and Wigan got their first point with  a 1 - 1 draw with North West rivals Preston.

The best attended game of the day was at Upton park where West Ham drew with Sheff Utd 0 - 0.
