Division 2 review.

Last updated : 25 January 2003 By Michael Morris
Well it finally happened. After what seems like 8 years of Division 2 football Wigan were finally beaten. Swindon taking the leaders scalp by 2 goals to 1. Yes!

Bristol City were held by struggling Stockport. Yes.

2nd placed Oldham beaten. Yes.

What a day, Cardiff only have to win at bottom placed Huddersfield to make significant gains today. It did not happen.

The momentum is with Crewe. They beat 10 man Oldham at Boundary Park and move three points ahead of City. We do have a game in hand mind but after seeing what I saw at Huddersfield today I'd rather have the points in the bank.

QPR are still 6th despite losing at home to Tranmere. Simon Haworth with a 90th minute winner. Rangers have played two games more than, and are 7 points behind City. They have also played two games more than Luton who in 7th with 43 points. Cardiff currently have 53.

City have now dropped below the 2 points average said to be needed for promotion. Only a win next week will get us back on level terms.
