A superb achievement from the Latics which jutifies their 11 point lead at the top of the table. They beat Colchester 2 - 1 at the JJB today to keep themselves in pole position for the Division 2 title. Wigan are 12 points ahead of City but have played a game more, they are still catchable but City will have to go on a similar winning streak and hope Wigan slip up a few times.

Oldham stay second but only drew at Wycombe. They are 1 point ahead of City but have played 2 games more. Crewe are third, level on points with Cardiff but they have also played a game more.

A place below City are Bristol City, they were held at Tranmere today. Simon Haworth with the levelled for Tranmere. Cardiff are 3 points ahead of Bristol with a game in hand.

In 6th place are QPR, they are 7 points behind City having played two games more. The Hoops won at Plymouth today.

Cardiff use up the one game in hand they have on Wigan, Crewe and Brstol when they play Port Vale on Tuesday night. A win will put City second, 9 points behind Wigan and two ponts ahead of Oldham and still with a game in hand on Oldham. That shows how important Tuesday nights game is.
