Division 2 round up

City stayed in 8th place in Division 2 after yesterdays 2 - 1 win over Stockport. The gap at the top though has closed. The mornings leaders Brentford were beaten 3 - 1 at Tranmere, their away form lately has been poor. A defeat and two draws in their last three games, hopefully that will continue on Tuesday night.

Wigan are the new leaders. They are a point clear thanks to a goalless draw at Chesterfield. Bristol City are second following their 3 - 2 local derby win at Cheltenham while Blackpool are 3rd following a 2 - 1 win at Wycombe.

Wigan lead on 16 points from 8 games. Bristol City, Blackpool and Brentford all have 15 points from 8 games. The next four teams have 14 points. 5th place Oldham and Q.P.R (6th) from 8 games, Plymouth (7th) and City have 14 points from only 7 games.

Biggest win of the day was Oldham's 6 - 1 home win over Mansfield. The stags are now one place off the bottom spot which is currently held by Cheltenham Town.
