Well it seems as if Lennie is waiting on Spurs. The City boss told the Echo
"It's always better to strengthen when you are playing well. The lad wants to come and it's down to Spurs, but it must be done this week - before international players go off for 12 days with their national teams."
Also before the transfer window closes on Aug 30th.
This weekend is the last weekend the international players have with their clubs. Then they are off around Europe until Thursday September 11th. Lennie wants the Doherty deal completed before he sets off with the Irish squad.
With only 3 full days left this week we will find out pretty soon.
