Donny give City the Blues

Right from the kick off Doncaster closed City down, spoiled their play and then controlled the game and Cardiff had no answer to Rovers' domination.

It was disappointing to see City appear to accept their fate after Doncaster scored twice inside 4 first half mins. By the 17th minute of the game it was all over.

For me there was two turning points. 1, the early departure of Jay Bothroyd. City had lost their outlet upfront and for the rest of the game had no one in attack to hold the ball up, and 2, Michael Chopra's 2nd half miss after Neil Sullivan and given him an oportunity to score. Chopra tried to chip the keep when it seemed easier to slot the ball past him when clean on goal. Cardiff never got close again.

Other results were fairly kind and as we enter the international break Cardiff sit in 3rd place. Newcastle are top with 13 points from 15, West Brom are 2nd with 11 points and Cardiff 3rd with 10 points.

City's next action is on Sunday September 13th with a live Sky game against Newcastle at the CCS.
