This was an opportunity lifelong City fan Robert Reid, a sports sub-editor with the newspaper, was not prepared to let slip through his fingers!

Appropriately attired for the occasion in his 1927 FA Cup final replica City top, Robert said:

"While it is not the actual trophy Fred Keenor got to lift in 1927, it will do for me. Hopefully City can continue on the road to Wembley on Saturday with a win over Reading. Fingers crossed.

"Whatever happens, it is great to see City back in blue. Hopefully it will help heal the wounds and unite the fan base once more. Bluebirds!"
