Earnie speculation doing the rounds

What appeared to start as internet rumours have been picked up by the press and now Earnshaw has not ruled the possibility out.

Earnie is looking for regular football after just 2 starts for Derby this season. His record prior to this season speakes for itself. 85 goals in 141 league starts for Cardiff. 12 goals in 22 league starts for West Brom and 27 goals in 41 league strats for Norwich.

With a World Cup campaign coming up for Wales Earnshaw knows he needs to be playing football.

"I will return to the Bluebirds if it means regular football". He told the Echo.

Earnshaw was set to play for Derby tonight in the FA Cup replay at Sheff Wednesday but that game has been postponed.

"I would certainly not snub Cardiff or anybody else for the chance to play regular football," he continued.

"I think I'm a better all-round player since I left Cardiff, but it would not worry me one bit to return to Cardiff and play for them again.

"I also have Wales to think about. The 2010 World Cup campaign starts in September and I need games to stand a chance of being in John Toshack's plans."
