Liverpool had a scout at Loftus Rd, Villa no.2 Stuart Taylor watched Earnie too. Charlton boss Alan Curbishely went to see Earnie for himself and it's reported that West Ham, Spurs and a little known outfit from the North West (Man Utd) are also carefully monitoring the young striker.

Earnie is a goal machine, 61 in 80 starts. He has continually said of his dedication to Cardiff City and his desire to play for City at the highest level, he is not daft though and will know of the interest he is bringing upon himself

He told the Wales on Sunday

"I do have ambition. I would love to ultimately play on a Premiership stage. I want to be playing in European competition too, especially against Spanish clubs. But while there has been a fair bit of speculation, I'm very happy at Cardiff. I love it here, I'm scoring lots of goals and we're at the top of the league. I feel I can realise my soccer ambitions with Cardiff . . . but we do have to make certain we go up this season. Things have been going for me this campaign. I've got 19 goals by the end of November, maybe that's exceeded even my ambition. I'm delighted with my goals-per-games tally, especially as I wasn't in the starting line-up at the begining of the season. I was just a substitute."

Earnie's team mate Daniel Gabbidon is also the centre of transfer speculation. The Premiership transfer window is due to open up on Jan 1st and both players will be considered prime targets, both are current internationals.

City boss Lennie Lawrence is now looking ahead to two cup games. Both are big games. City take on Margate next Saturday, the winners get a place in the draw for round 3 and the potential of glory.

In the LDV Vans game the following Tuesday City travel to Bournemouth. The Cherries are in form, third in Division 3 and with the last 8 home games all wins, 7 of them in the league. Of course the reward is a final at the Millennium Stadium. Lennie is positive after Fridays win at QPR

"This win over QPR was our third consecutive victory in six days. We've coped with the League match here and the one against Chesterfield, with the FA Cup win over Tranmere sandwiched in between. But such are the standards we set at Cardiff that I will be massively disappointed if we don't win our two Cup matches coming up."

Cardiff at Margate is next Saturday Dec 7th, 1:00pm and the LDV clash at Dean Court (forget the Fitness First Stadium) is on Tuesday Dec 10th at 7:45pm.
