Speaking after the games Earnshaw said
"I wanted to pay the fans a little respect so that is why I didn't do a somersault. I had great times here and the fans gave me a tremendous ovation at the end of the game.
"It gives me a great feeling to know that they appreciated my time here in Cardiff.
"It was probably my best goal so far for Norwich but it happened so quickly I will have to see it again."
Norwich now move above City in the table.
