City's star striker was talking to the BBC.

"We must bounce back after what happened in Italy, the players have responded well and we know we have to give the fans a performance.

"I love playing here, scoring for the fans and giving them a bit of joy.

"My career here has been unbelievable. Six years ago I was still at school and now look at me, for club and for country. Wales is my adopted country and I want to get them to Portugal.

"There is always talk about me going, but I am still here and want more than anything to give something back to the Welsh people and this city for the way they have treated me and my family.

"I have scored goals in three divisions now for Cardiff and helped to give them what they want.

"Now I would love to give the Welsh nation what it so desperately wants, and that is a place in the European finals.

"I am dying to start. I am not sure what the manager will do, but I want to play and go out at the Millennium Stadium to enjoy myself and do well for the team.

"But I also want to do it for Cardiff. The people have taken me to their hearts, they have been amazing with me and my family."
