Echo confident Koumas is on his way

A close source to the player insists that after intense talks yesterday between WBA chairman Jeremy Peace and Cardiff City's hierarchy, a deal has been struck to bring the talented midfielder to Ninian Park.

The Echo understands that a fee has been agreed and the method of payment has also been ironed out late last night with personal terms basically agreed. The weekend will now see the i's and t's dotted and crossed with the hope of a public announcement made either Monday or Tuesday.

With all financial matters taken into account, including the transfer fee, it will cost the club around £1.3m for the next two to three years.
