Echo pretty sure Burton will get assistants job

EX-CRAZY Gang goalkeeper Dave Beasant has backed Terry Burton to stoke up the fires of passion at Cardiff City when he is appointed as assistant manager.

After sacking Ian Butterworth, the Bluebirds are set to appoint Watford coach Burton in his place in the hope he will contrast against the methodical Lawrence and put a rocket up the players from the touchline.

Burton spent 14 years at Wimbledon and Beasant was just one of the men who passed under him, but the pair have also worked together more recently at Watford.

And the former Wimbledon stopper, still playing with Premiership Fulham, but also now coaching the Northern Ireland national team, believes Burton has the spark City are looking for.

"Terry is definitely that sort of guy," said Beasant.

"He knows what he wants and he is vocal and will let the players know if they are not doing it for him.

In a different article there is a quote from Sam who says

"Terry is, to me, one of the best, if not the best, coach in Britain. That's how highly I rate him, he's the ideal man to work alongside our manager Lennie Lawrence."

Seems to be the only man in the frame.
