England U21 call up for Cameron Jerome

Camerone Jerome has been called into the England U21 squad for the qualifying games against Austria and Poland in the coming 10 days.

Jerome has netted 8 times for City so far this season and fully deserves his inclusion in the squad.

Well done Cameron.

Last season on loan midfielder Gary O'Neil was an U21 international and Michael Ricketts has had one full England cap. Andy Campbell I believe was a former England U21 player. I think you have to go a long way back though to find the last Cardiff City player called for England duty.

England Under-21 squad: Camp (Derby), Carson (Liverpool), Steele (Man Utd), Davenport (norwich), Dawson (Tottenham), Onuoha (Man City), Baines (Wigan), Ferdinand (West Ham), Taylor (Newcastle), Whittingham (Derby), Ridgewell (Aston Villa), Huddlestone (Tottenham), Soares (Crystal Palace), Milner (Aston Villa), Reo-Coker (West Ham), O'Neil (Portsmouth), Welsh ( Liverpool), Thomas (Charlton), Moore (Aston Villa), C Cole (Chelsea), Stead (Sunderland), C Jerome (Cardiff City).
