"Kelvin's injury is not as bad as we first feared. It's just a matter of the swelling going down," said Dave Jones.
"We'll take a look at it but we hope he will take part in training and could be available for us."
City are set to have Peter Whittingham and Kevin McNaughton available as well after they also came off at Middlesbrough last week.
