FA could impose further punishment on Cardiff City

An FA spokesman told the Western Mail

"Our Challenge Cup committee will study the report it receives from the FAW before making any comment or deciding whether any further action is necessary.

"As disciplinary hearings like these take place so infrequently, it is difficult to comment on what that further action could involve. Each case is looked at separately."

The FA, in this instance only have jurisdiction over Cardiff for FA Cup games, have in the past forced teams to play Cup games behind closed doors. Leicester v Burton Albion and Peterborough v Kingstonian being two examples.

As reported last night Cardiff will not appeal against the fine. No meeting of the FA Challenge Cup committee is expected until at least the end of the month.
