Fa Cup tie to be screened by S4C and FA

The match at Ashton Gate, ko 7:45pm on Tuesday January 12th, will be streamed live on the FA Website www.thefa.com Bristol City have been aided by the FA to ensure the game goes ahead. The postponement last weekend left the Association with no live cup game being streamed on the Saturday and this time they have made a move to help out.

A huge Macleod pitch cover will be used and hot air blowers should be in place from Saturday.

S4C were also left in the lurch by the postponement and they again will cover the re-arranged game. The following press release is from the Welsh language station.

The rescheduled FA Cup third round tie between Bristol City and Cardiff City will be broadcast live on S4C on Tuesday, 12 January (kick off 7.45pm).

The local Championship rivals will go head-to-head at Ashton Gate after the original tie was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

S4C's Sgorio team will provide live coverage of the derby as the Channel follows the progress of Cardiff City, the only remaining Welsh club remaining in the FA Cup, sponsored by Eon.

Presenter Gareth Roberts will be joined by ex-Wales international John Hartson and Osian Roberts in the studio, with Nic Parry and Malcolm Allen providing expert commentary on the match.

The coverage includes English language subtitles and the match will also be available to watch live on the S4C website, s4c.co.uk

S4C is available on all platforms in Wales and on Sky 134 and Freesat 120 in England , Scotland and Northern Ireland .

Sgorio pundit, former Newcastle and Wales forward Malcolm Allen said: " Cardiff City have a great record away from home this season and a phenomenal scoring record. But a derby is a derby and a FA Cup match is never easy to predict. Bristol City will certainly be fired up for this one. It should be a cracker."
