City fans will not have to worry about that as Fan says he's retired from international football.

"I told China after the World Cup that I would not be playing anymore. I started at the age of 18 and it's been 15 years." Fan told the Echo.

"It was a difficult decision to make becuase I loved playing for my country and before I really wanted to play. But now I'm 33 and I have made the decision. It's time to stand down and that will mean I can concentrate fully on club football. That decsision was made before I came to Cardiff and when I thought I would be playing for Dundee."

City fans should get their first chance to see Fan in action in next weeks reserve team game against Oxford Utd at Ninian Park on Wednesday November 20th at 7:00pm. His first appeaance for the first team is expected to in the LDV Vans 3rd round which takes place week commencing Dec 9th.

Before then City play Tranmere tomorrow, Fan was not signed in time for that game. He's thought unlikely to be fit for the home game with Chesterfield on Nov 24th but could be considered as a sub against QPR on Nov 29th. Depending on the outcome of the FA Cup 1st round City may or may not be playing in the second round on Dec 6th. Then comes the LDV game against opponents that will be determined by tomorrow's draw.
