Farewell to Highfield Rd. Website reaction

City came away with a draw from Coventry that keeps the Sky Blues just below us. A draw it turned out with all the other results in was not too bad a return. We made no progress on Coventry or Gillingham but Forest went down to a huge defeat at Ipswich (we play the Tractor Boys on Tuesday).

Just above us Plymouth hammered Brighton to jump up a couple of places but Crewe, Brighton and Watford all lost while Leicester did not play. We are within three points of the 5 clubs above us.

The game itself v Coventry produced little to report. The line up was as expected with Bullock strting upfront in place of Thorne and well done to Lee, he marked the occasion with a goal.

The most telling action all happened in the first 20 mins, Coventry bundled in a goal on 16 mins, Stern John the scorer after some pinball in the box. City struck back just three mins later. A cornert routine wide left saw the ball swung into the box and it was Bullock who got the important touch and his header found the net.

City had one decent sceond half chance when Jobi McAnuff broke into the box but his effort went high and wide. Coventry had a couple of efforts, most noticeably from scorer Stern John who caught a shot too well and it went over the bar.

With so much at stake neither side could afford to slip up and the defences did what was needed.

Coventry can look forward to a new stadium next season but in fairness there's not an awful lot wrong with Highfield Rd, OK it's old, in a tight residential area but still a good venue once inside the ground.

Ermm thats about it. Tuesday could be a bit more interesting when Ipswich come to Ninian Park.
