It was thought the game would be switched to Ninian Park but meetings between Newport County officials and the police have resulted in the game going ahead in Newport.

A 2,000 limit has been set and the game will be all ticket. Priced at £10 for adults, £6 for OAPs and £3 for juniors. These prices represent an increase in normal prices as the club say they have to cover the cost of the extra security. Cardiff City will be given 500 tickets. No tickets will be on general sale and no tickets will be sold on the day of the match.

Extra stewards will be used as well as police inside and outside the stadium.

The game is the semi final of the FAW and the tie will be decided on the night. Newport have already taken the scalp of Swansea City in the tournament and the game against Cardiff will be one of their biggest matches for a long long time.

The other semi final is between Wrexham and Rhyl.
