Feeney joined City on loan in March and it was speculated at the time he would be offered a 3 year contract in the summer. Now the player himself seems sure the deal is about to happen.

Feeney's contract with Luton ends at the end of the month and he's set to sign his new contract on June 1st moving to Ninian Park on a free transfer.

"Everything has been agreed and sorted out and I am pleased to be making this move," Feeney told the Belfast Telegraph..

"It wasn't until I arrived that I realised how big a club Cardiff City is and how great a place it is to live in.

"The club has just got the go-ahead for a new stadium and the manager and chairman are planning for the Premiership.

"We ended up a bit short of the play-offs this season, but the manager has promised that he will be letting players go in order to be able to strengthen the squad for a bigger challenge next season.

"I need to be playing in the Championship if I want to keep my Northern Ireland place and I am looking forward to next season already."
