Final defeat for City in Masters

The 6 aside tournament for the over 35's saw the involvement of Cardiff for the first time and the Bluebirds nearly won through to the national finals.

A round robin of matches produced a win over Bristol Rovers and draws with Bristol City and Swansea. Bristol City won their other two games and they won the mini league, Cardiff were second, Bristol Rovers third and Swansea 4th.

The top two played off the final with Bristol City winning 3 - 2 to snatch the Western Masters title and to progress into the National Final in Birmingham later in the year.

The crowd was exteremely passionate and came across well on the live TV coverage from Sky.

City's team included Andy Legg and Jason Bowen, both set to play in a Champions League qualifier for Llanelli soon, Jeff Eckhardt, Kurt Nogan, Paul Bodin, Gavin ward and Roger Gibbins. Swansea included Barnsley manger Simon Davey in their squad.
