Cardiff City's players return for pre season training this week and its only a couple of weeks before the first pre season game. City take on Merthyr Tydfil at Penydarryn Park on Saturday July 20th, 3:00pm.

In what has been a very quiet summer as far as City are concerned there are no new faces at the club yet. The return to work of Lennie and the players this week and with it now being July (a lot of players were under contract with other clubs until the end of June) then we could see some action in the transfer market or just an upturn in news coming from Ninian Park.

Two players have definately left the club. Paul Brayson was released at the end of last season and Leon Jeanne was sacked. Kurt Nogan has also been released but is expected to stay with the club while he recovers from his achillies injury.

Main names linked to a move to Cardiff City are midfielder Gareth Whalley, one of many players released by Bradford. Marlon Broomes, a young defender from Sheff Weds. Keith Donovan from Grimsby. There has also been an association with Mickey Bell and Scott Murray from Bristol City.

There is no news yet on a new fixture for Friday July 26th in Scotland.
