Cardiff City are close to getting Daniel Gabbidon back in training. The City defender is to have treatment for his back problems and is hopeful that a course of treatment to come on Friday this week will be enough to have him ready for training next week.

"He has anaesthaetic, an injection as part of the process and will then be manipulated by the specialist. It's not an operation but a manipulation." said Lennie.

It's hoped this will be the final step for Gabbidon who has already been fitted with an orthotic support and has been making progress.

Des Hamilton suffered a hamstring injury last Saturday as needs to rest. He is expected to be put for 2 / 3 weeks.

Scott Young is also making good progress and is close to playing again. The Christmas break though menas that are no reserve games for Scott to sharpen his fitness in so he may have to wait a few weeks yet.

All this means that Fan Zhiyi is set to keep his place when City travel to Colchester tomorrow. Another good performance from the defender would see him establish himself in the team

Rhys Weston is also back for tomorrows game. Rhys missed last week through suspension and will surely be straight back into the starting line up.
