Gabbidon fitness concern

Danny Gabbidon is in a fitness race ahead of the seasons opener at Crewe on Saturday. Gabbidon has jarred his heel. He had the same injury on his other foot last season. That saw him miss some games. This time it's not as serious but Lennie will not decide until Friday if he is able to play.

"I will make a decision on whether he plays on Friday," Lennie told the Western Mail.

"He's not a definite for the Crewe match but, at the same time, I'm not ruling him out."

James Collins will step in of Gabbidon does not make it.

It would appear that Lennie's preferred line up for Saturday is

Margetson, Weston, Page, Gabbidon, Vidmar, Langley, Boland, Kavanagh, Robinson, Thorne and Earnshaw.

The three concerns are Gabbidon, as mentioned above. Willie Boland and Peter Thorne both missed the Lazio game with niggles. Both hope to be fit for Crewe.

Lee Bullock and Alan Lee have both shown good pre season form and could step in if needed.

There is still the possibility that Sean Gregan could be a City player by then. There's been no developments on that matter today.
