Danny Gabbidon was last night named as Carling Welsh Player of the Year. Gabbidon played for City until the summer when he moved to the Premiership with West Ham.

James Collins who also moved with Gabbidon to West Ham was named as Carling Young Player of the Year.

Of course both players played for most of the year with the Bluebirds.

Gabbidon has secured a starting place in the West Ham line up while Collins has only started one game, the Carling Cup victory at Sheff Weds. Collins has though been involved in the last two Wales game, he was a sub against England and started against Poland.

Gabbidon is suspended for this Saturdays game against Norethern Ireland in Belfast.

Congratulations to both.
