Gareth Bale: 'I will not be signing for Getafe'

Gareth Bale has insisted he has not made up his mind about where he will be playing his club football next season, though revealed he will definitely not be signing for Getafe.

The Spanish side said earlier this week that they had been offered the chance to sign the former Real Madrid forward by his representatives, only for Bale's agents to come out and deny such a claim.

Bale, who is still on international duty with Wales, was asked again about his future after securing World Cup qualification, but said it's an issue he will give more thought to later this month.

"[World Cup qualification] for sure influences [my future], I just want to be playing going into the World Cup, to be as fit as I can obviously," Bale said.

"I think I heard the manager say ideally he wants everyone to be playing and everybody wants to be playing. Hopefully I can enjoy my holiday and then decide where I want to be and what I want to do to try to be playing games to be as fit as I can for the World Cup."

When asked if he was close to signing for anyone, Bale replied: "No, but I'm not going to Getafe, that's for sure!"

90min understands EFL Championship outfit Cardiff City are preparing an audacious double-swoop to sign Bale and Wales teammate Aaron Ramsey. Bale was born and raised in Cardiff but has never played club football for a Welsh side.
