Neil Warnock got one of his men this evening with the signing of Bolton forward Gary Madine.

The 27 year old has been linked with City for a number of weeks and was a target along with Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban.

But Grabban has joined Aston Villa with City snaping up Madine, who was Bolton's hope of survival, for an undisclosed fee.

But the rumours on social media all day places Madine in the £2 - £8m price range.

Most likely City has made a reasonable down payment with more money based on the success of the player and club.

Madince scored against City in Bolton's shock win at the Macron before Christmas. He has scored more goal thatn any cardiff player has this season so hopefully he continues to find the net for Cardiff City, starting this weekend at Leeds.

"He’s been my number one choice all season and I’m delighted to capture him," said Neil Warnock.

"He’s been worth the wait, although I must admit that it wasn’t until the last 24 hours that I thought it might be possible. I must thank Vincent, Mehmet and Ken for their hard work in getting this over the line. I’m sure the fans will join me in welcoming Gary to the club."
