Glenn Loovens linked with move to Rangers

City's dependable centre half has not signed a contract extention yet with suggestions that he is waiting for a move to the Premier League but it's the SPL that takes centre stage today with claims of possible deals involving striker Kris Boyd or Daniel Cousin moving to South Wales with Loovens heading North. Loovens is entering the final year of his contract with Cardiff City.

A Rangers source is claimed by the Echo to have said

"Walter (Smith) is a big admirer of Loovens and has watched him for some time.

"He believes Loovens would fit in well at Rangers and as he only has two centre backs on his books, is keen to sign a new man in time for the Champions League qualifiers."

It's thought that Rangers want £800,000 - £1m in cash plus Glenn Loovens to trigger a move to Cardiff for Boyd. But City value Glenn more than that.
