Good luck message from son of 1927 hero

Last updated : 10 March 2008 By Michael Morris
Peter wrote to me to pass on his congratulations to Dave Jones and the team. He says his father would have been proud of the teams achievements.

"I cannot praise the team enough for there outstanding performance at Middlesborough which i watched from my home in Peterborough," said Peter

"Being the son of the late Ernie Curtis who together with Fred Keenor and the rest of the 1927 cup final team brought a lump to my throat. Dad lived his life for City and i have fond memories of this when he was their trainer. They will be looking down with pride on the team. All dad would say to them now if he were here is "Well done lads just go out and enjoy the game. You can do it." Those words still ring in my ears and thats my words to them also I just want to see us bring the cup back to Cardiff as a fitting tribute to the hard work the team have put in. Congratulations to all the team and Dave now lets get the Cup."

Thanks to Peter for his mail and let's hope City go go on and emulate the heroes from 1927.
