Gordon hoping to earn new contract

He hopes his chance in the team will give him the oportunity to stayt at Cardiff.

"I want to be here next year, so when I get a chance I have to take it.

"I think I could have done a bit better overall, but you can't complain after getting a goal.

"It's been difficult sitting on the bench at Cardiff, but when people are playing well all you can do is sit back and enjoy it.

"We've got great strength in depth at the club and hopefully we can take it on from the win at Coventry."

Gavin Gordon signed from Lincoln City after impressing for the Imps at Ninian Park. He has struggled with injuries and his starts for the first team have been limited. In his time though he managed a 5 goal haul against Rushden + Diamonds in an LDV game and manager to crock Rio Ferdinand when City played Leeds in the FA Cup.

Gavin is set to start alongside Earnie again this coming weekend when West Ham United come to Ninian Park.
