Gray day for Julian as Palace refuse 3rd month

Crystal Palace have refused to allow Julian Gray a third month on loan at Cardiff City. Palace would only sell the player to Cardiff City but with only 6 months on the players contract at Selhurst park £500,000 is too much to pay.

Lennie is still interested in the player and likewise the player in Cardiff City. For now Lennie and Cardiff City must continue without him.

What will happen back at Selhurst Park is anyones guess. Steve Kember has been sacked and Kit Symons is now in charge. He may want to use Gray.

The problem is with Chairman Simon Jordan who said before Gray came to cardiff

"He doesn't want to be with the club and I don't want him here.

"He thinks he's too good for us but, if he is, I don't see too many clubs queuing up to sign him.

"I can't even stand the sight of seeing him after everything I've done for the kid. I've looked after him and his family ever since he signed for the club and then he treats me with utter contempt.

"We have to carry on paying him if we want to get a transfer fee. I suppose he is available for selection, but I would be surprised if the manager picked him.

"He thought he was too good for us and the only reason he's back is because we are his meal ticket for the time being. I don't think the fans would be too impressed to see him in a Palace shirt again."

Palace paid £500,000 for Gray and are looking to recoup their money. As the clock ticks down until the end of the season the chance of selling Gray diminishes. Palace have tried to force Cardiff into buying but Lennie has stood firm and would not pay any money without having Gray for the third month.

It's unfortunate for the player who looks like facing a wait until his contract expires before leaving Crystal Palace. Cardiff may resurrect a deal during the transfer window or even at the end of the season but for now Gray is no longer a City player.

Best wishes to Julian.
