Halsey in charge of South Wales derby

The 49 year old, originally from Hertfordshire but now the Bolton area is back refereeing top flight football after finding out in 2009 that he had cancer. He made a return to League football at the end of last season and was back in the Premier league this season.

Halsey has been a referee for well over a decade. I can trace him back to the 1997 / 1998 season where he took charge for Cardiff 7 - 1 Doncaster at Ninian Park.

One of the goalscoreres that day ironically was Swansea and City player David Penney who then went onto play for and manage Doncaster.

Halsey will be joined by assistants M Mullarkey and A Newbold. The 4th official is Andre Marriner.
