Des Hamilton reported in for pre season training with Grimsby Town today. Des failed to sign on loan for the Mariners at the end of last season due to an administration problem but he looks set to make a permanent switch to the second division club.

Des is still in contract at CCFC but has been told he is not in Lawrences plans for the coming season so Des has done the decent thing and found another club so he can play football and not just sit around getting paid for nothing.

The deal is hoped to be completed shortly.

Hamilton a former £m+ player from Newcastle made a limited number of appearances last season with niggling injuries hampering him when he did break into the team.

He becomes the second player to leave City for another club, Leo FW moved to Doncaster Rovers at the end of last week.

City have one other in contract, out of favour player and thats Layton Maxwell.
