Hammam explains financial budget for the coming season

CARDIFF CITY owner Sam Hammam has revealed the belt-tightening budget the Bluebirds must work within next season if they are to keep their planned stadium development on track.

The Bluebirds' must operate on a budget of £4m to keep the institutions financially backing the £100m, 30,000-seat development in Leckwith in the capital happy and must stick to a strict business plan which is still being scrutinised by Cardiff County Council.

Hammam has admitted the £4m to cover transfer fees and player's wages is not enough to launch a serious assault on the Premiership and said a three-pronged assault was being carried out to try to raise the figure to the £6m he believes necessary for a promotion push.
