Haverfordwest 1 - 0 Cardiff City XI

The game was played in searing heat with City starting with Allison, Gunther, Jacobson, Blake, Corcoran, Evans, Bassett, Combes, M.Jones, McCoubrey, McDonald.

Haverfordwest included former City players Tony Bird, Lee Kendal and Simon Heal in their team.

Credit both sides who fought well in the oppressive heat but the game failed to produce many goalmouth incidents. The best of the them fell to Haverfordwest who saw a chance cleared off the line while neither keeper was called upon to be particularly busy.

The winning goal came in the 90th minute when a deflected shot looped up over Allison in the City goal.
