Historic Langston debt settled

C:WindowsTempphp3393.tmpSam Hammam mask lifted to reveal that Langston is Sam Hammam. And he might have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids.

Seriously though, putting aside the farce of Langston and it's mysterious ownership, a settlement of around £5m has been agreed out of court and has to be paid in 30 days.

A further £2m will be paid on promotion to the Premier League.

Exacty what this means to the clubs finances is uncertain as Vincent Tan will have to stump up the money, possibly increasing the debt to him the club has to cover.

This comment on CCMB tries to make sense of it

So a guy, who owns us, is loaning us money, to pay a guy, who used to own us, who loaned us money when he owned us.

The settlement prevents a high court case that was starting today.

But staying out of court and clearing up old debts has to be a good thing. Doesn't it?
