How I saw the game at Preston

Ricketts hit the bar early on, Lee battled hard up front. The subs seemed to help though. Parry made an impact, but we didn't have the quality to force a draw, lots of huff and puff but not enough chances created. Loovens goal was a nice shot, in off the underside of the bar.

Preston looked like a decent side, passed the ball well, and our long ball game didn't really work as their centre backs - Lucketti in particular did very well, heading the ball out all afternoon. Also because we don't pass the ball at all well in midfield, they had all the meaningful possession.

Support today was superb, around 600 City up there backing the team 100%, even at two down the fans were behind the side. In particular before our goal the singing was excellent.

One thing though, I can't really get too upset at the team, we took our only 16 fit players to Preston today, no strikers on the bench because we simply didn't have any to take. I think we have been overachieving and results like this are inevitable.

Big game against Brighton on Tuesday.
