Howard has been out of the City reckoning with Dave Jones preferring 5 outfield players on the bench until David Forde arrived.
Howard's move happen on Friday morning.
"Everything happened so quickly,'' he told Swansea's official website.
"I was only asked about going on loan at 9.45am this morning and an hour later, I was down training with Swansea.
"I didn't have any hesitation in signing. As a young keeper, it's important for me to get as much experience as possible and take my chance if it comes.
"I enjoyed training with the Swansea lads this morning. In fairness, they didn't give me much stick - well, not yet anyway!"
