Hughes, Jordan and Hamilton hoping for action

Last updated : 13 January 2003 By Michael Morris
Cardiff City play their first reserve game in nearly 6 weeks at Swindon tomorrow and some old faces are hoping to return.

David Hughes and Andrew Jordan have been out with long term injuries but both have been training and could see proper action for the first time.

Jordan has been out for 18 months and has only made 6 appearances for the City scoring two goals, both into his own net. He cost £30,000 from Bristol City.

Hughes was a £450,000 signing from Shrewsbury Town and in the games he has played for Cardiff has proved he is a quality centre half. Now a year on from his last action he will have to prove to Lennie Lawrence that he can play. Starting with the reserve team outing tomorrow.

Des Hamilton has recovered from the injury he picked up against Bristol City a month ago and is also in line for a game at Swindon.

The full team and update will follow on Tuesday, kick off at the County Ground is at 2pm.
