Humbled by Luton Town. Merry Xmas Mr Lawrence.

Why is it that other teams can raise themselves to play us but we struggle to go up half a level. Luton were at us all afternoon and 2 - 0 flattered City. It should have been 6. Comical finishing from Luton and a couple of class Neil Alexander saves kept the score line down.

0 - 0 at half time was probably fair enough but the second was shocking from a Cardiff City point of view.

The only thing in abundance from City was petulance. 5 players booked, Kav for being obstructive when he lost possession, Boland at the end for a reckless challenge, Weston for diving in, Prior and Barker also in the book.

City were cheered on by a crowd of around 1500 but it was hard work watching your heroes given a stuffing by Luton.

The home fans had ample oportunity to take the mick out their former manager Lennie Lawrence. Sam Hammam will be furious to have his former Wimbledon boss Joe Kinnear produce a performace with heart, passion and effort while Sam's current manager had nothing to offer.

Neil Alexander made two cracking saves but his command of his area was non exisistent. Prior, Fan and Barker were all over the place. Weston was the only quality City had. We had no control in midfield and nothing up front.

Today was a very bad day for Cardiff. The result will be irrelevant if we win our next two games but it's deeper than that.

The gut reaction as a fan walking away from Kenilworth Rd is are we actually as good as we think we are. City can play football but we cannot battle. We have got away with results at Mansfield and at Colchester but today we failed. It's the second time in three games we've been beaten by better organised teams who "wanted it more".

Sort it out Lennie, your record so far is impressive enough but nip this in the bud now. We have been found out and it's your job to sort it out.
