Improved offer looks to have secured Burton's services

Reports today suggest that Terry Burton will join Cardiff City on Wednesday as the new assistant manager.

Burtons current club Watford, who City entertain tomorrow, seem resigned to losing him

"We thought the situation had settled with the chairman talking to Terry about a new contract," said Hornets manager Ray Lewington,

"But Cardiff have been very persistent and come back with a better offer which naturally Terry will have to consider.

"I don't want Terry to go but the decision is with him."

Todays Western Mail claim that Burton has already told Lewington he is leaving to join Cardiff City. It says he will not sit on the bench for tomorrows game and will be unveiled on Wednesday.
