Ipswich v Cardiff

Last updated : 09 March 2010 By BBC Sport

Cardiff will again be without Peter Whittingham (groin), Mark Kennedy (calf) and Stephen McPhail (ribs).

Mark Hudson is recovering from an ankle problem and is still unavailable, as is Joe Ledley (hip).

MATCH PREVIEW

Cardiff City's 2-1 win on the Welsh club's last visit to Portman Road, in December 2008, was their first victory there since 1946.

Ipswich will not want any repeat of that in the first of four home games in the next five fixtures for Roy Keane's side, who will be looking to use home advantage to pull away from the relegation zone in the coming weeks.

They also want to start converting draws into wins, having drawn 14 of their 34 Championship matches this season. Another stalemate would equal the club record of 18 in a single campaign, set 19 years ago.

Cardiff embark on the first of three consecutive away matches and are still in the top six following Saturday's 1-0 victory against fellow promotion chasers Middlesbrough. It was their first win in five games, and their 100th under manager Dave Jones.
